The Justified Elder of Mu Mu (not to be confused with the Justified Ancients of Mu Mu, the Justified Ulcer of Mu Mu or the Justified Elmer of Gl Ue) is a 36 year old Chicagoan who usually works as a patent lawyer but sometimes studies to do other things.
Apart from knowing far too much pop culture ephemera than a person with limited time on this earth should, I love music, reading, watching sports, writing cranky letters to politicians, surfing the net (natch) and taking road trips. (What's the Mu's favorite movie? The Omega Man. What's the Mu's favorite book? The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers [though The Assistant by Bernard Malamud is a close runner-up]. I've been reading a lot of short stories lately - a recent (2000) short story by ZZ Packer called "Drinking Coffee Elsewhere" was so stunning it had me in a daze, bumping into things in my apartment. In the Garden of North American Martyrs by Tobias Wolff was also excellent. Argh - stop me before I bookcritic again!]. If you want to subject yourself to my favorite albums, please check out the "Face the Mu-Sic" page).
Here's a picture from my co-favorite 1-day trip: Winona, MN:
My other favorite 1-day trip is Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Not only can you enjoy the beautiful scenery driving along the Lake Superior coastline, you get to enjoy the strange twilight-zone feeling of being in Canada: a place that is half-American, half-foreign. Plus you can check out weird Canadian stuff you can't find in the states (like the *full line* of President's Choice foodstuffs - hey!).
The Mu hates having his picture taken and will go to neurotic lengths to avoid cameras. But ok, here's a passport photo (scanned from the actual passport) - I look pretty much the same except for a few more grey hairs, a few less brown hairs, and less cologen.
