So who is this Eloise chick anyway?

I'm 5'6", 24, bright-eyed, bushy-tailed (figuratively). I really need to scan in a good 'introductory' picture of myself. What do I like to do? Well, I read a lot (See my books page). I'm a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism (Their homepage here; the homepage of the 'Kingdom' where I live, the Midrealm; my own SCA page). I make things, like yarn from wool and crocheted and knitted items from that yarn and clothing for my SCA play from store-boughten fabric and many other things (see my crafts page eventually). I go to science-fiction conventions, which will get a page eventually too. I work, doing phone tech support for RealTick 3, an online stock-quote and stock-trading software (see my company's web page). I sleep. :->

( - - Some really old pics available: One from Halloween 1996, one from Mad Media 3D, a con in Fall 1996. In this latter I'm displaying the results of my boyfriend's and my efforts in a 'kit-bashing' contest - where you take premade models and make them into things they're not supposed to be. More to come, someday. - - )

I live in Chicago, and have a wonderful boyfriend, John; we've been together for (ohmigod) over six years now (summer '00). My mom, Ellin Beltz, teaches Earth Science at various local universities and other places, and also has a really neat website with scads of content.

I recently bought a car, a 1983 Chevy Suburban (blue, grey, and rust paint job) which is so far unnamed; I do have a picture of her, but it's not scanned yet! Ahh, well. More on my list of 'to do.'

Buying me a present of some kind? Here's a list of some of my CDs, and here's a link to the Wish List feature on Amazon.com - just search for eloise@ripco.com and I'll pop right up. Alternatively, check my list (of things Amazon don't carry) on Wishlist.com. Reading this page should give you all the info you need to get into it. :->

Not too different, I see. Hrm. My geek code used to change radically all the time :-> I guess I'm growing up, or something.
