Their debut album is out here on Island...JACK BRUCE has put together a new band that includes Simon Phillips, drums; Tony Hynass, keyboards; Hughie Burns, drums; their albums "How's Tricks?" has been released in Europe...The long awaited new album by EMERSON, LAKE AND PALMER has arrived. It's called "Works" and it's a double record set. Each of the lads takes a side for solo projects and the fourth side finds the band together. They'll be playing Soldier's Field in Chicago in May...FOREIGNER is a group from England that is making some waves. The band includes Ian Mc Donald ex of King Crimson...GEMS FROM GERMANY: lots of new goodies for fans of Deutch Rock released here in the past month. SCORPIONS' "Virgin Killer" is a delightful hard rocker...If electronic music is your thing, TANGERINE DREAM'S "Stratosphere" is a must. The Dreams are currently on a U.S. tour that included a stop in Chicago...also a must is KRAFTWERK'S "Trans Europe Express. It''s very rhythmic and has some nice melodies as well. Expect them to be over for a tour in the near future...PASSPORT has long been a favorite with jazz fans around the world. Their new Atco release "IGUACU" is sure to boost their following here and abroad...on the other side of the Big Swamp KRAAN has switched labels and is now on EMI in Germany. Their new album is called "Wiederhor'n"...Michael Rother from NEU! has a solo album on Sky Records called "Flammende Herzen"...HARLIS has a second LP out called "Night Meets the Day"...FROM THE REST OF THE CONTINENT: GONG's new U.S. release is called "Expresso" and since Steve Hillage has left the band his guitar chair has been taken over by Alan Holdsworth...JANNE SCHAEFFER, Swedish jazz-rock guitarist, has an LP out on Columbia called "Katharsis". Although her appeared on American LP's by Jason Lindh and George Russell, this is his firt solo LP to be released here.
